The Minister of State, Minister of Tourism and Leisures, Mister BELLO BOUBA MAÏGARI will lead from 17th to 26th January 2012 the Cameroonian delegation to participate to Tourist International Fair (FITUR) and to African Tourist Investment Forum (INVESTOUR) in Madrid in Spain.

During the two tourist events, INVESTOUR will particularly be emphasized for the following reasons:

The conception of an INVESTOUR came out during the meeting of African and Asian Ministers of tourism in January 2009 in Madrid (Spain) within the framework of the dynamic cooperation between World Work Organization and the Tourist International Fair and in accordance to the 48th meeting of the african commission of WWO that was held in Yaounde on April 2009.

The main gaol of INVESTOUR is to promote the sustainable development of Tourism in Africa by the opening of its tourist destinations to markets and spanish investments. INVESTOUR as a real platform for economic exploration is a meeting place for those who have projects and potential investors. It plays the role of catalyst in terms of technological support and assistance to tourist sector in Africa.

Since 2010, the organization of this great event planned to choose each year one african sub region as a guest of honnour. This distinction gives opening and privilege to countries that are concerned with the promotion of their destinations and their projects to be presented. That is why countries members of CEDEAO and those of South African Development Community (SADEC) had the place of honnour respectively in 2010 and 2011.

For 2012 edition, it is the countries members of CEMAC which will have the place of honnour.

The ambition is to interest potential Spanish investors to tourist projects in the African countries on the one hand and to promote exchange between african and Spanish private operators on the other hand.

Countries members of CEMAC notably aim at :

• Search for financing and investment for their projects;
• Promote and show once more their destinations to spanish markets;
• Highlight sub region tourist assets;
• Set up a more important synergy between infrastructures, transport and tourism.

So, it is relevant for countries members of CEMAC to join forces to take maximum advantages at INVESTOUR 2012 in Madrid.
