Cameroon has opened a number of hunted hunting areas around certain national parks and wildlife reserves in which hunting guides and tourists can indulge in sport hunting. This activity is highly regulated, as the lease rights, hunting licenses and slaughter fees stipulated by the Act must be paid.
However, since Cameroon is a signatory to several international conventions on the protection of wildlife and biodiversity, and in particular the CITES Convention, several species remain fully protected. The guides take care of the accommodation of tourists in their respective hunting areas.
