General informations

Located at an average altitude of 1,550 m above the sea, Northwestern is a highland region dominated by a chain of mountains rising with Oku Mountains, more 3000 m altitude.

The relief, covered with grassy vegetation, offers a captivating spectacle characterized by the contrast offered by the panoramic plains surrounded by mountains, deep valleys are home sometimes cut river falls and several crater lakes.

Outside the rainy season (July to October), the region offers, all the rest of the year, an enabling environment for the trip. This is a soft, cool climate, with temperatures hovering around 22 ° C.

Bamenda, main town and capital of the region, is a city both modern and traditional. This is an important commercial center and a crossroads for all the region. A 350 km road called the “Ring Road” allows the visitor to admire the region in all its touristic diversity: traditional chiefs, landscapes, lakes, waterfalls, wildlife reserves, etc. .
